
I agonized over it.
Should I operate the new location as a second branch,
or let go of the old shop I’d grown so attached to…?
This shop was the place where Kuro 5 was nurtured—my starting point.
But I also felt it might be time to move on to a new stage.

After going to the trouble of expanding the shop, we finally started getting lots of customers.
To let it go now feels honestly like such a waste…
Above all, I had a deep attachment to this place.

However, the true meaning of opening a new store lies in welcoming customers with our best team members at a fully equipped new location.
With that resolve, we made the heartbreaking decision to bid farewell to our old store.

January 5, 2010.
The new Kurogo 5 has finally opened as the current Kurogo 5 main store!
The store area is approximately three times larger than before.
Even so, driven by our desire for customers to enjoy a relaxed dining experience,
we deliberately limited the number of tables to 10 and provided separate restrooms for men and women.
We have created a more comfortable space.

The kitchen is now spacious, and we can even light charcoal fires inside the restaurant,
dramatically improving the staff’s working environment!
The once hot and cramped soup station is now perfectly comfortable.
With all staff united in spirit,
we are now fully prepared to welcome guests to the “new Kurogo 5”.
— And so, the second chapter of Kurogo 5 begins here.
